Project Background

Fibreglass Warehouse approached Adeptive with the goal of launching a new eCommerce startup to sell its fibreglass products. Targeting small to medium-sized businesses, hobbyists, and DIY enthusiasts engaged in boat and caravan repairs, among other projects, the business aimed to start with a modest product range, with plans to expand as the business grew.

Competitor Research

To ensure a competitive edge, Adeptive analysed websites of key competitors and customer reactions to them. Building on our knowledge of the latest eCommerce technology and standards, this comprehensive analysis informed our design and functionality decisions, ensuring the new website was specifically designed for our customers as well as exceeding the industry standard.

Fibreglass Warehouse was designed to stand out from the crowd.

Brand Design

Adeptive created a cohesive brand design including logo and colour schemes. Brand Identity Guidelines were created, encompassing the selection of a colour scheme, brand font, and the design of a logo for the new business.

Adeptive’s strategy for the Fibreglass Warehouse Brand Identity was heavily influenced by our intimate understanding of the customer base, as well as a strong desire to stand out visually from our competitors and peers who have existing brands and websites.

Planning & Web Design

This phase involved collaborative workshops with the client to define the ideal User Experience for our customers, what functionality they need and how the shopping experience for various types of products needed to work.

We explored in detail the product categories and tagging structures, and defined a spreadsheet structure so that each product could be easily entered in a format that was easy for the client and that we could later use to bulk import into the website.

Website Development

Using WooCommerce, we set up the WordPress environment, configured categories, imported products, and integrated payment gateways. The design prioritised ease of use and scalability.

WooCommerce Product Importer

We guided the client in defining and gathering product data,  including suggestions on SKU formats for growth, product field attributes for SEO and search and recommendations around product image creation.

We helped collaboratively on a spreadsheet of raw product data and created an importer that was used to populate the website with approximately 200 products for launch. The importer was designed to be reusable for future product additions and changes.

This approach saved the clients weeks of manual product creation using the traditional WordPress UI.

Fully Responsive Design, Mobile Ready

By choosing WordPress and Elementor, the website design was easily configured to respond to various device resolutions.

We made additional customisations to ensure the experience was an optimal one, and tested various thresholds extensively before delivering to the client.

Content Creation

We guided the client in generating content, optimised product images, and implemented SEO best practices.

Adeptive also assisted in creating key website pages and policies, and provided guidance on the importance of product image creation in the selling process.

Additionally, we created some initial product content using AI tools and SEO specific content editing.

Finally, we assisted the client with the drafting of key customer service content such as Terms and Conditions, Shipping and Delivery Policies and more. We gave the client as much insight as possible into what is involved in running a successful eCommerce store, so they could easily dodge many of the challenges faced by startup eCommerce website operators.

WooCommerce Store Training

Like most start up eCommerce websites, it was essential that the client was able to confidently manage their store ongoing to keep initial costs down and provide good customer service. Adeptive provided multiple one on one training sessions with the client, showing them how to manage the store, process orders, handle refunds and run reports. At the core of all Adeptive web training is getting our clients to perform actions themselves, guiding, explaining and answering questions along the way.

Clients can request user manuals, knowledge bases, and how-to videos be developed by Adeptive should they require them.

Ongoing Maintenance & Support

Adeptive is continuing to support Fibreglass Warehouse, maintaining the website and providing technical, operational and business guidance to the client whenever they need it. Our job is to keep the site running smoothly and that our shoppers continue to get the best experience possible.
